Hi everyone! I travel to Aus for 2 and half months very soon

So glad I found this group already found out so much however it is making me feel very under prepared with the lack of research I’ve done.
I’m heading to Perth to visit a friend and was planning on doing a 28 day tour of the East Coast from Sydney to Cairns so kinda feel I have those areas sorted.

However does anyone have recommendations of things I definitely need to see or do anywhere else?

So so grateful for any advice.

  Head up to the Kimberley. Broome is beautiful. Also visit South Australia. Flinders Ranges, Arkaroola, Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Clare and McLaren Vale wineries are all within an hour or so of the city. Kangaroo Island is wonderful. There is lots of other places to visit in SA too. Have a look at South Australia tourism website.

  These are things I like..In nsw you might like to take the waterfall way. It goes away from the coast and is a wonderful trip. From there you can then visit places like Glen Innes and Tenterfield in northern nsw if you wanted. The waterfall way ends around Armidale which is a lovely place. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland has some lovely spots to visit. You can do a scenic tour and find yourself in a lovely little town called Dayboro. In north Qld Townsville isn’t usually on people’s itinerary but it’s got some hidden gems, it has its wonderful strand and also the beach at Pallarenda, among other things. On the way north you might like to visit the Paluma township high on the range. Make sure you stop at Frosty Mango which is about 40 mins past Townsville heading north and have a mango trifle.At Tully make sure you drive into the town and check out the giant gumboot.
