Hey everyone !! My partner and I are looking at travelling to Europe next year for 4 weeks

We know we cant jam everything in on our first trip so we want to know:
1. Best unexpected thing you guys have seen
2. A place thats not worth the visit
3. A place thats definitely worth the visit
4. And anything we should know as a first time visit over.
We want to see the whole of Europe (over several trips) so we’re open to travelling wherever on our first trip

  Don’t overdo it on the castles and fancy palaces. Not worth it: neuschwanstein. Castle ruins are cool. And any castle with a dungeon. But the fancy furnished ones like Versailles get super boring. Once you’ve seen the Vatican, you’ve seen enough.

  Portugal was amazing and easy to get around- Italy (my fav ❤️)- loved London and Ireland- see the Alps for beautiful views but can skip Geneva and Zurich (Zermatt was great)- Amsterdam! Have the best time! Let me know if you need specific info on any

  People are crazy to say Paris is overrated. Paris and Rome are must dos. My style is get in, see the highlights and move on to maximize the experiences I can have in Europe. Places I’ve been that I’d go back to:Paris, Rome, Dublin, Amsterdam, London,.Places I’ve been that were okay and I wouldn’t go back to, but are solid 1-2 day visits:Venice, Warsaw, Milan, Lake Como

  Wherever you go, first decide if you are going for the tourist attractions or to actually experience the local culture. This will help focus the trip on the activities you end up doing. Enjoy your travels!!

  Just got back from a long road trip round Europe. Most disappointing was Italy. Croatia was favourite. Austria was goodSlovenia looks amazing North Romania

  1. I can’t think of the best unexpected - but I did not think I would enjoy the Harry Potter museum as much as I did 😂 and I am not a Harry Potter fan!2. I have travelled a lot and can’t say any place was not worth visiting. It’s an individual thing. 3. Venice! Paris! Rome! Greek islands! The Uk! 4. Wipe out travel days for exploration- whether plane, train or bus - it takes time to get places and it is tiring.
